With History and Heritage of Street Art , Parcelle473 revisits its permanent collection by tracing the origins and transformations of this global movement. The exhibition honors major figures such as Futura 2000, a New York pioneer of abstract graffiti, and Nasty and JonOne, who have left their mark on the Parisian and international scene with their singular style and visual energy. It also pays tribute to visionary artists like Ernest Pignon-Ernest and Jacques Villeglé, whose poetic and political interventions in public space have profoundly influenced the perception of urban art.

By bringing together these historical references alongside contemporary works and the young Montpellier scene, the exhibition offers a living story: that of an art born in the street, protestant and free, which over time has become heritage and a universal language.
History and Heritage of Street Art is not just a retrospective, but an invitation to understand how these founding gestures continue to inspire today's artists and shape our view of the world.
